AI Images vs. Real Photography: How to Use Technology for Good

In today’s digital world, AI is everywhere—even in photography. From artistic edits to creating entire scenes from scratch, AI images are popping up across social media. While this technology can feel overwhelming or even concerning, I believe it has its place when used in the right way. As a professional photographer, I want to share how AI can be used for good—and why real, professional photography still matters most when it comes to preserving your family’s story.

The Rise of AI Images

Artificial Intelligence has made it possible to generate images with just a few words typed into a computer. This has sparked creativity, new art forms, and even playful tools that let us imagine scenes that don’t exist in real life.

But it’s also raised an important question: how do we know what’s real anymore?

What AI Can Never Replace

Photography isn’t just about pretty pictures—it’s about connection, authenticity, and memory. When I capture your family, your newborn, or your maternity session, it’s more than an image. It’s your story, your love, and your legacy preserved forever. No computer can replicate the warmth in your child’s giggle or the way your family squeezes together for a hug.

That’s where real photography will always shine—it’s personal, emotional, and genuine

How AI Can Be Used for Good

While AI can’t replace real memories, it can be a helpful tool:

  • Creative Mockups: Designing seasonal backdrops, planning sessions, or showing clients what a setup might look like before their session.
  • Inspiration Boards: Helping brainstorm color palettes, themes, or styling ideas for portraits.
  • Educational Tools: Making graphics for camera classes, online courses, or visual guides for new photographers.

In my own business, I sometimes use AI for background mockups or course materials, but when it comes to your portraits—the ones that will hang on your wall and live in your family albums—those are always captured by me, in studio or on location, with my camera and years of training

The Best of Both Worlds

AI may be here to stay, but it doesn’t have to be a threat. When used thoughtfully, it can enhance creativity and support photographers in planning and teaching. But when it comes to your family’s story, nothing will ever replace the authenticity of a real photograph, taken with love and intention.sn’t just about pretty pictures—it’s about connection, authenticity, and memory.

Why Choose Real Photography

At the end of the day, AI can generate an image, but only real photography creates a memory. The warmth of a newborn snuggle, the laughter of siblings in the fall leaves, the glow of a mom-to-be—that’s real life. That’s what I’m here to capture for you.

Certain moments in life can’t be repeated. A maternity glow, a newborn’s first days, a child’s milestone—these are once-in-a-lifetime memories. That’s why it breaks my heart when I hear from families whose photographers cancel at the last minute, leaving them without someone to capture those fleeting moments. Not long ago, I got a call from a dad in Tinley Park who was desperate for help. His wife was dressed in a stunning maternity gown, her hair and makeup were professionally done, and their daughter was ready for pictures. Then, just one hour before their session , their photographer canceled.

There’s something truly magical about fall in the Midwest. The crisp air, golden leaves, and glowing sunsets create the perfect backdrop for timeless family portraits. At Creations By Beth Photography , fall is one of my favorite times to photograph families—it’s when nature does half the work of setting the scene. All that’s left is for me to capture the love, connection, and joy between you and your loved ones.
